A Letter From Laird Noh
December 17, 2009
Written in Acceptance of the Post of Honorary Campaign Co-Chair for Allred for Idaho
I am a Republican rancher with nothing bad to say about Butch Otter. I have been County Chairman and GOP Legislator of the Year. I am an active public supporter of dozens of Republican Candidates, most recently our fine former Governor, U.S. Senator Jim Risch. I served as State Co-Chair of Idaho Farmers for Gerald Ford and I bid farewell to Ronald Reagan at the airport when he was here in support of Steve Symms. Why would a person like me be supporting Keith Allred?
In the past few years, as a Director of The Common Interest, I have had the opportunity to become well acquainted with Keith and Christine Allred. They are exceptional in many good ways. And all who have worked with Keith, from all political persuasions, on some very divisive issues, have great respect and admiration for his motivation, reliability and talents.
It is not often enough that we find someone of such uncommon ability, objectivity, and energy who is willing to devote their scarce hours in this land to political public service and leadership. I believe that once you become acquainted with Keith, regardless of partisan affiliation or the lack thereof, you, too, will not want to let this opportunity slip away.
These are not ordinary times for Idaho or the nation. We must come together. Conflict and policy paralysis are our enemies. Overcoming these is Keith’s long suit. Keith has displayed time and again, in the councils of business and politics, that he is uniquely qualified to bring us together, to find common ground so we can again move forward.
